民族音楽の解釈を根底に、80年代から活動するスペインの集団Finis Africaeによる6枚のアルバムを編集したコンピレーション。年代もメンバーもバラバラで、AmbientやExperimental、New Waveの要素を含んだ多様な楽曲を収録。東洋の深い森の夜や、亜熱帯の岸壁から望む朝日といった、スケールの大きい様々な光景が脳裏に浮かびます。それでいて、光差す朧や霞を抜けた先にある、人類未踏の独自の進化を遂げた文化圏のような統一感に、LP2枚を通してじっくりうっとりと浸れます。この地球の中で、ゆっくり自由に生きていいんだという気持ちにさせてくれる素晴らしいコンピレーションです。

This compilation brings together six albums by Finis Africae, a Spanish collective active since the '80s with a foundation in folk music interpretation. The diverse tracks, spanning a diverse range of eras and members, incorporate ambient, experimental, and new wave elements. The album evokes images of grandiose scenes, such as a deep Oriental forest at night or a sunrise seen from a subtropical cliff. Yet, beyond the hazy light and mist, the two LPs allow you to immerse yourself in a sense of unity, like a cultural sphere that has evolved in a unique way, yet remains unexplored by humanity. This is a wonderful compilation that inspires you to live leisurely and freely on this planet.
