初期ハウスシーンを牽引し、今もなおフロアで輝き続ける曲を数多く残した、シカゴ出身のTen City。そのメンバーであるByron Stingilyが飛躍前に、Marshall Jeffersonとのユニット“Ragtyme”として、1987年に手がけた幻の一曲。MixはFrankie Knuckles。マシンを用いながらも生じる有機的なズレと初期衝動が、人間的な暖かさを醸成する一因であると、聴けば聴くほどに思います。
キーボードソロが冴えるA面はRon Hardy Remix。B面のMarshall Jeffersonによるオリジナルは音に魔法がかかっています。こちらの2008年オランダ再発盤でも、それを十分に感じることができます。
Ten City, hailing from Chicago, spearheaded the early house scene and left behind numerous tracks that continue to shine on the dance floor. This is a rare track that member Byron Stingily produced in 1987 as part of the unit "Ragtyme" with Marshall Jefferson, before his big break.
Mixed by Frankie Knuckles. the track's organic imperfections and raw energy, despite the use of machines, contribute to its human warmth, a feeling that becomes more apparent with each listen.
Side A features a brilliant keyboard solo in a Ron Hardy remix. Marshall Jefferson's original on side B has a magical quality to its sound, which is fully evident in this 2008 Dutch reissue too.
