リオデジャネイロ出身のギターの巨匠・Baden Powellによる、のちに世界的に影響を与えることになる1964年作。録音当時26歳の青年が奏でる、若々しくも静謐な色気溢れる10曲。
A5=SorongaioはパーカッショニストPedro Dos Santosの楽曲。Pedroが考案したsorongoという太鼓のリズムパターンと、Baden Powellによるフリー・フォームなアドリブ・ソロによる、情緒と烈しさのエキゾティシズム。
This 1964 release by Rio de Janeiro-born guitar virtuoso Baden Powell would go on to exert a global influence. It features 10 tracks performed by the then 26-year-old musician—music that is youthful, yet imbued with a serene, seductive allure.
The track "Sorongaio" (A5) was composed by percussionist Pedro Dos Santos. It blends the "sorongo"—a drum rhythm pattern devised by Pedro—with free-form improvisational solos by Baden Powell, resulting in an exotic fusion of deep emotion and intense, fiery energy.
